I am looking for a water softener for a home renovation project. The plumber is in doing the first fix. This looks like ike a good product as it is efficient and dynamic. It appears your EWT 606G water softener isn’t taking in salt. Here’s what you can check:

Salt Bridge: Inspect the salt tank for a hard, crusty layer. If present, carefully break it up.
Bypass Valve: Ensure the bypass valve is not engaged, preventing water from flowing through the softener.
Power Supply: Confirm the softener is correctly plugged in and the voltage transformer is working.
Brine Line and Valve: Check for any obstructions in the brine line and valve.
